Alice Chen, 2011 Biology Undergraduate Research Award Recipient

Alice Chen is a senior, majoring in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry. She is a member of the Hutton Honors College. Alice has been an Undergraduate Teaching Intern for our Biological Mechanisms class for four semesters.
She has been a member of Professor Cheng Kao’s research team since May 2010. Her research paper was entitled “Viral double-strand RNA-binding Proteins Can Enhance Innate Immune Signaling by Toll-Like Receptor 3.”
This fall, she will attend the IU School of Medicine. Her plans are to train as a pediatric surgeon.
