The Indianapolis International Airport is recommended as a destination for air flights. Limousine and bus shuttle services are available to Bloomington from Indianapolis, which is approximately 50 miles away.

From the North
From Indianapolis, take Indiana State Route 37 South,
which is accessible from I-465 on the South side
of the city. Bloomington is about 50 miles south
of Indianapolis. Take the first Bloomington exit
(College Avenue or Business 37). Continue south
on one-way College Avenue into downtown Bloomington.
Turn left at the traffic signal at Seventh Street
and College Avenue. Continue east on Seventh Street
(10 blocks) to the Indiana Memorial Union. Turn
right at the guard's gate into the circular drive
that leads to the pay parking lot.
From the West and Southwest
Take Indiana State Routes 45 or 48 to Indiana State
Route 37. Turn left onto the State Route 37, and
continue north to Indiana State Routes 45 and 46
(the Bypass). Turn right onto the Bypass. Turn
right at the second traffic signal(College Avenue).
Turn left at the traffic signal at Seventh Street
and College Avenue. Continue east on Seventh Street
(10 blocks) to the Indiana Memorial Union. Turn
right at the guard's gate into the circular drive
that leads to the pay parking lot.
From the Northwest
Follow Indiana State Route 46 until it intersects
College Avenue. Turn right at College Avenue. Turn
left at the traffic signal at Seventh Street and
College Avenue. Continue east on Seventh Street
(10 blocks) to the Indiana Memorial Union. Turn
right at the guard's gate into the circular drive
that leads to the pay parking lot.
From the South
Take Indiana State Route 37 around Bloomington until
you reach the intersection of State Route 37 and
State Routes 45 and 46 (the Bypass). Turn right
onto the Bypass, then right at the second traffic
signal (College Avenue). Turn left at the signal
at Seventh Street and College Avenue. Continue
east on Seventh Street (10 blocks) to the Indiana
Memorial Union. Turn right at the guard's gate
into the circular drive that leads to the pay parking
lot.
From the East
Take Indiana State Route 46. You will enter Bloomington's
residential and shopping area; State Route 46 becomes
East Third Street. At the College Mall shopping
plaza, continue straight through the traffic signal
on East Third (State Routes 45 and 46 Bypass turns
to the right at this intersection). Continue on
Third Street (through traffic signals at High Street,
Jordan Avenue, and Woodlawn Avenue) to a signal
at Indiana Avenue. Turn right on Indiana (one-way
north). Go four blocks north to the intersection
with Seventh Street. Turn right onto Seventh Street.
Continue east on Seventh Street (four blocks) to
the Indiana Memorial Union. Turn right at the guard's
gate into the circular drive that leads to the
pay parking lot.
Parking
Parking on campus is restricted. Visitors may park at a parking meter or in an attended parking lot, or they may purchase a visitor parking permit at the Indiana Memorial Union hotel desk. Hourly parking is permitted in the two Indiana Memorial Union lots ("VH" on map). A "Visitor A" parking permit entitles the visitor to park at any of the garages or surface lots marked "V" on map. Parking on many neighborhood streets near campus is restricted between 8 am and 5 pm; these areas are marked by City of Bloomington signs.
Time Zones
As of April 2, 2006, Bloomingtonhas joined most of Indiana in observing daylight savings time, and is now on the same time as New York City (Eastern Time) year-round.
