What to See

The Department of Biology welcomes tours by school groups and other visitors.

• Jordan Hall boasts an extensive display of paintings of birds by the Indiana artist William Zimmerman, on loan from the collection of Richard and Ruth Johnson, located in the central hallway leading to the atrium on the first floor.
• In the Jordan Hall atrium, visitors can observe reptiles in the vivarium, and browse the nearby exhibit cases housing a diverse collection of zoological specimens.  Visitors can also see the painting entitled "Phases of Biology", by Indiana artist Rudy Pozzatti.
• The first floor conservatories of the Jordan Hall Greenhouse are open to the public.  Groups of visitors are asked to arrange visits in advance by contacting John Lemon.

Stay Awhile

Indiana University offers several summer science camps for middle school and high school students, including:

• IU Biology's Holland Summer Enrichment Program and Lilly Scholars Program, for minority students from Indiana's high schools
• 2012 Science Olympiad Summer Fun Camps, for middle school and high school students
• Indiana Junior Academy of Science
• Graduating high school students may also be interested in the IU Center for the Integrative Study of Animal Behavior's Research Experience for Undergraduates in Animal Behavior
