What to See
The Department of Biology welcomes tours by school groups and other visitors.
- Jordan Hall boasts an extensive display of paintings of birds by the Indiana artist William Zimmerman, on loan from the collection of Richard and Ruth Johnson, located in the central hallway leading to the atrium on the first floor.
- In the Jordan Hall atrium, visitors can observe reptiles in the vivarium, and browse the nearby exhibit cases housing a diverse collection of zoological specimens. Visitors can also see the painting entitled "Phases of Biology", by Indiana artist Rudy Pozzatti.
- The first floor conservatories of the Jordan Hall Greenhouse are open to the public. Groups of visitors are asked to arrange visits in advance by contacting John Lemon.
- Teachers interested in bringing school groups to the department may find Kathy Daniels' Evolution Field Trip page useful.
