Courses

Courses are required to bring all students to a high level of expertise in their chosen field.  Required coursework is generally completed by the end of the second year.

Seminars

A major part of the life of any scientific institution is the sharing of information through formal and informal seminars.  The many seminar series sponsored by the EEB, MCDB and Microbiology programs, provide exposure to a wide range of research problems and approaches.

  • Evolution, Ecology & Behavior brown bag talks (Tuesdays at 12:00 in Simon 001)
  • Microbiology research/journal club (Friday at 12:20 in Simon Hall 001)
  • Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology graduate research seminars (Fridays at 11:30 in Simon 001, Spring semester)
  • Other discussion groups and journal clubs
