Graduate Studies
Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology Graduate Program
This is an exciting time for biologists. Largely due to the availability of the genome sequences of many organisms and the opportunity to perform genome-wide studies, the 21st century has been called the Century of Biology. We offer an exciting interdisciplinary graduate program that provides training in key areas of genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, biochemistry, developmental biology, cell biology, and evolution. A wide range of cutting-edge research activities offers our incoming graduate students many choices from which to select areas of specialization for their thesis research. In addition, students in our program learn how to critically analyze and plan scientific research, give seminars, write high-quality research papers, and get grants funded. The MCDB program provides students with the training and research experience necessary to pursue careers in academic biomedical research, biotech industry, and university-level teaching. I encourage you to take a close look at what we have to offer.
