Several weeks after Prymaat's disappearance was disclosed on the Arabidopsis news group, what looked like hostage photos began to arrive at Ohio State University from various locations in the United States and eventually, Europe and Australia. When the photos first started arriving in the mail, I only notified the Arabidopsis Secret Service (ASS) since we were still uncertain if Prymaat had been abducted by Fiendish Arabidopsis Research Thugs (FARTs) or if she had simply left on her own accord. All of the photos and associated materials that might have been able to provide clues to Prymaat's situation were provided to the directors at ASS to help with their investigation.

A few months after receiving the first few photos, new pictures we received were accompanied by supplemental material, including written notes. The notes suggested to us that Prymaat may not have been abducted by FARTs after all. Instead, a picture began to emerge that suggested that Prymaat may have used the confusion of the Arabidopsis party to leave her family and embark on a more adventurous life - after all, Prymaat did arrive on earth as a member of a race of intergalactic conquerors. By the time messages began arriving from overseas, it seemed very likely that it was Prymaat's restless spirit that drove her from her family. We were forced to conclude that the initial apparent "abduction" was most likely a staged operation. When we realized that Prymaat was not likely to be in danger from any alleged FARTs, we kicked ASS off the job. besides, it wasn't like they had made any progress in the case anyway. As far as we can tell, their sloth like performance on the Prymaat is probably why ASS is no longer in service.

As far as we have been able to determine, Prymaat traveled to at least six locations in the United States and two locations overseas. In some of these locations, Prymaat apparently learned a great deal about herself and grew as an individual.

You can learn more about Prymaat's travels and view images of the "hostage" photos and other materials that we received by choosing the locations from the submenu under Chapter 4 on the left. In some cases we were not able to determine the chronological order of her trips. They are listed according to the most likely order based on the dates on which the material arrived in the mail. However, we are quite sure from eyewitness accounts that she began her travels in Madison, WI and ended with her return from Australia.
