I received my BS in Chemistry from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). (For those of you scratching your heads, IUP is part of the Pennsylvania university system and is located in Indiana, PA.) When I left for graduate school in the Biochemistry Department at the University of Wisconsin, I did not have the slightest intention of working with plants. Ironically, I ended up joining the only lab in the department working on plants. I joined the Indiana University faculty in 2003. When I’m not in my lab or office, you are likely to find me with my wife and two daughters. Occasionally, I do make it back to Wisconsin to visit and blow glass.
